Frequently Asked Questions:

1. How big is each episode?

Each episode is 22 minutes long and contains no commercials. The files are fairly large, however, averaging 130 MBs. This is a standard size for TV and movie files of this quality. Download times will vary greatly depending on your Internet connection. With hi-speed connections, download times average 15-40 minutes. Slower dial-up connections will take longer. But it’s worth it! Many people will order their episodes and download them at night.

2. What do I need to download them?

All you need is an Internet connection. If you are reading this, you are able to download any of the TV show episodes and free download video files. To download TV episodes simply click on the “add to cart/GO” button and follow the prompts. To download any of the free videos just click on the image or the text below the image and save the file to your computer.

3. What do I need in order to watch them on my computer?

You will need a PC (Windows 2000 or XP) or a Mac (OS X) with iTunes software or a QuickTime Player. Both of these software programs are free downloads and can be used to watch many different kinds of video on the Internet.

4. How do I watch them on my computer?

After the purchase and download process is finished, you will have saved each episode’s video file to My Documents, the desktop, or folder of your choice. Simply locate the files, then launch iTunes or QuickTime. In iTunes, you must first import the files to your playlist. From the drop down menu choose “File”, then “Import”. Select the files, and “Enter”. iTunes will automatically import the selected files and add them to your playlist. Double-click on the episode you wish to watch, and depending on your “Playback” options in “Preferences”, the show will play automatically. Be sure to have the sound turned on.

Using the QuickTime Player, launch the program. In the drop down menu, select “File”, then “Open File”. Choose the episode you wish to watch, and “Enter”. Hit the play button on the player and the show begins (with sound!).

5. How do I watch them on my Video iPod?

You will need a newer 5th generation Video iPod in order to watch videos. The older iPods cannot play video, just music. In order to “sync” the episodes (the term used for transferring videos from your computer to your iPod), you must have the iPod properly connected to your computer. Using iTunes, if you haven’t already done so, import the video files into your playlist (see question 4). Then simply drag the episodes from the playlist onto your iPod icon under “Source” on the left-hand side. ITunes will manage the transfer of files to your iPod. When done, properly disconnect your iPod. Now you can watch your favorite sailing and cruising show wherever you go!

6. Can I use one of those “knock off” mp4 players?

We haven’t tested our process on any of those, but in theory they should work. We are totally confident that with the minimum computer requirements and by following the manufacturer’s directions, you will be able to watch the show on your Video iPod, or on your computer in iTunes and in QuickTime. If you happen to use a different kind of mp4 player, please let us know how it works.

7. What if I have problems?

Be sure you have the minimum requirements for running iTunes or QuickTime on your computer. Both programs have excellent “Help” features on-line.
